TThe Bowen Technique is a remedial, hands-on therapy that is applied using a very gentle pressure. Using thumbs and fingers on precise points of the body to perform Bowen’s unique sets of rolling type moves, the technique works by stimulating the connective tissue of the body. It is believed that the Bowen Technique prompts the body to reset, repair and balance itself and clients report the experience of pain relief, improvement of function and recovery of energy. Some people choose to use Bowen as a means of stress management and health maintenance, seeing their therapist regularly 2-4 times a year. Common presentations include: Back and neck pain, Sports injuries, RSI, Frozen shoulder, Sciatica, Hayfever, Migraines, Stokes, Digestive problems, Respiratory problems, Gynaecological problems, Hot flushes!!, Sleep problems.
Cost £45 per treatment (45mins – 1hour)
Scar formation is a natural process of wound healing. Scar tissue contains more fibrous tissue and collagen deposits than normal skin, making it structurally and functionally different. There may have been nerve damage from the injury or surgery causing numbness or sensitivity in the area.
ScarWork is done primarily to improve feeling and functionality in the scar and surrounding tissues, creating better movement between the layers of skin, fascia (connective tissue) and muscle. Treatments stimulate the circulation, lymphatic and nervous systems to encourage renewed healing and promote tissue health. ScarWork can help resolve nerve impairment or symptoms such as numbness, pain or sensitivity.
Which scars can be treated?
All kinds of scars from very old to newly healed (once you have been discharged from your doctor) can be treated using ScarWork. They could be the result of an accident, operation or cosmetic surgery, such as: Caesarean section, Hysterectomy, Breast surgery (not implants), Knee replacement, Hip replacement, Foot surgery, Abdominal surgery, Appendix removal, Achilles tendon surgery And many more……
N.B. ScarWork cannot be used if mesh has been inserted.
Cost £45 for an hours treatment
Tiziana Barton, Counsellor
Every human being is born with a core self that is loving and creative.
During childhood years this inner self can get lost because of the way we are parented or due to the effects of traumatic life experiences.
Conditions in adulthood such as anxiety, depression, panic attacks, addictions and relationship difficulties can often be seen as symptoms of the disconnection from our core self. Losses such as the death of a loved one, divorce, redundancy, illness and so on can lead to further difficulties.
Counselling is a powerful way to allow you to work through these issues and help you with the healing process in a confidential and safe environment. I will support you to gain new insights and perspectives on your situation in a non-judgemental way. Your problems will be taken seriously and you will be treated with dignity and respect.
Please get in touch for further information or simply an informal chat with no obligation to make an appointment.
Fees: £35 per sessions (one hour). £40 for couples. I offer a concessionary fee to students and to anyone who for whatever reason is not able to pay the full amount.
If you decide that you would like to make an appointment instead, I offer a first consultation meeting (£20.00) of 1 hour to discuss your needs and how we might work together.
