What is it?
This authentic US style Barre class is a low impact, full body workout. Inspired by the Lotte Berk method and set to a killer playlist, it’s a hybrid class that combines elements of Yoga, Pilates, Ballet conditioning, strength and interval training. It’s an intelligent workout that will center your mind, empower your soul, lift your spirits and leave you feeling glorious, graceful & strong!
We use light hand weights and small props and we work arms, thighs, seat and abdominals using bodyweight as resistance, precise isometric movements, holds and pulses that target muscles to fatigue & exhaust muscles which and then we stretch for relief. You’ll discover moving just an inch is all it takes to feel the shake and the burn!
Hands on adjustments are given through out class to ensure you’re working in your best form and so that you are safely getting the most out of each exercise.
Who is it suitable for?
There’s a variation for all levels in class, from the first timer barre goer to the most advanced student. Modifications can be taken at any time and extra challenges will be given to ensure you’re working at your fullest potential.
If you’re looking for an empowering workout that’s intelligently paced, mindfully constructed and with a great playlist, do come and try a class! As with starting anything new your first class will likely feel challenging and we’ll encourage you to stick with it. Come with an open mind and willingness to try something new!
This class is aimed at adults (18+) with a reasonable level of fitness.
Develop the grace to stand taller and to become stronger in both body and mind. You’ll get a great class without putting excessive stress on your joints. This method will help you develop bone density, strong joints and tone muscles in a lean, non-bulky way.
More than ever before we need to find on outlet in our life to focus on our wellbeing, body and mind. Taking part in a mindful movement practice like barre will have effects in life outside the studio such as increased mood, better concentration and relaxation.
What do I wear?
General workout clothing (Think yoga leggings and a top is fine). Please wear grippy socks if you have them. Bring a bottle of water .
£10 pay-as-you-go. A 10 class pass is £90 (£9 per class/ valid for 4 months) Please email to reserve your place in the class as numbers are limited.
SATURDAY 9.30AM. (Starts 27th April) Classes are 55mins. Classes start and finish promptly. Please don’t enter the studio more than 5 mins late as you need to join in the warm up to work safely in class.
If it’s your first class please arrive at least 10 -15mins early so the instructor can chat to you and learn about your body.
The teacher will ask you if you have any injuries/movement limitations. Please inform the teacher if you are pregnant, as in both cases special modifications will be given to you.
